Iowa – Maine – Massachusetts – Wisconsin
If passed, these states would join ten others in protecting the thousands of wonderful complementary and alternative practitioners such as herbalists, homeopaths, traditional naturopaths, Ayurveda practitioners, energy healers, health coaches, wellness consultants, and many others who are providing great services to health seekers. These bills are the perfect solution for health seekers’ long-term desire to have a law that protects access to their complementary and alternative health care practitioners.
The new laws would provide a state exemption for non-invasive health care practitioners who avoid a specific list of prohibited conduct, such as puncturing the skin or administering prescription drugs, and who give out the disclosure information to their clients listed in the bill before providing services. This disclosure includes contact information, education and training, and the nature of the services to be rendered. Health seekers deserve to have maximum options protected for themselves as they work to explore their wellness and health.

IOWA: Support Iowa SF261 and HF332 throughout the year to protect Complementary and Alternative Health Care in Iowa.
The 2019 Iowa bills were sponsored and introduced by Representative Jeff Shipley and Senator Zaun. Please join the freedom group supporting these bills here at Health Freedom Iowa Action.
The bills had subcommittee hearings in the Iowa Senate and the House February 20 and 21, 2019, respectively, and the Senate bill was left open for more research, study, and discussion for the upcoming summer. The House bill was defeated. So now it is extremely important to send a message to your Senators and Representatives to keep the conversation alive, thanking legislators, and preparing for the bills to pass in the future. And especially contact the Senate subcommittee members thanking them and asking them to recommend that the bill, SF 261, proceed to a full committee as soon as possible.
